In February, Dr. Gleick began a new National Geographic Science Blog, Significant Figures, in which he discusses the science and policy of water, energy, food and climate. Recent posts closely related to water diplomacy include
- discussion of recent developments in water-related tension along the Georgia-Tennessee border within the larger picture of “peak water” concerns in several regions; and
- addressing some of the misunderstandings or misconceptions that people often have when hearing about projected sea-level rise, with straightforward language that can help those of us who work in water help the public understand the real risks related to climate change outcomes, including change-induced sea-level rise.
